Better scale questions: matrix questions are now in surveys and screeners

Matrix questions are now available to all studios in the Player Insights Platform®, in both the order form and the new survey editor.

Not sure what a matrix question is? Joe's got you covered.

A matrix question lets players rate multiple items on the same scale in one go: for example, rating clarity, fun and difficulty each from 1 to 5, all in a single table. It's one of the most efficient ways to collect structured feedback across several dimensions at once.

A redesigned player experience

The player-facing UI has been redesigned from the ground up. Sticky column headers and alternating row highlights make it easier for players to track which row they're rating as they scroll.

Full column labeling

Previously, only the first and last points on the scale could be labeled. Now all five columns can be labeled individually.

So instead of players seeing just 1: Strongly disagree and 5: Strongly agree (and guessing what 2, 3 and 4 mean), you can label every step: "Strongly disagree / Disagree / Neutral / Agree / Strongly agree." Players now know exactly where they stand at every point on the scale.

Clarification follow-ups on matrix questions

Matrix questions also support a clarification follow-up text field. After a player submits their ratings, you can automatically prompt them to explain a specific answer in their own words.
