Face recording now available for PC playtests

Written by PlaytestCloud Team | September 15, 2026 at 3:57 PM

You can now record the player's face alongside their gameplay in Windows PC playtests. This new addition adds even more security to your playtests: face camera recording confirms the verified player is the one at the keyboard, helps discourage leaks of unreleased builds, and adds more insight into player’s experience.

Ordering face recording on PC is easy to do in the playtest order form: just select the box for the face recording option. Players run a camera check and agree to be recorded before the playtest starts, so nothing gets recorded without their consent.

On the video page the face cam shows up in a small floating player locked to the main one. Play, pause and seek to stay in sync, so you always see the reaction that goes with the moment on screen. You can download the face recording on its own, too.

One useful side effect: you get to see the exact moment a player lit up at a new mechanic or lost patience with a tutorial. It’s an added layer of analysis. Players’ words may tell one story, but often their faces can reveal another.

Face recording is available today for anyone with PC playtesting in their subscription.
