Early prototype and concept testing is where some of the biggest design wins happen. It’s also where teams hesitate the most.

Ordering a test can feel heavier than it needs to be. And when prototypes are sensitive, security concerns can stop testing before it even starts.

We updated our prototype testing to solve exactly that!

A faster way to set up prototype tests

Prototype testing now has its own dedicated option on the Playtest Selection Page.

When you choose Prototype Testing, you’ll see a streamlined order form built specifically for early-stage concepts. We’ve removed game-specific fields that don’t apply, so you can get a test live without wading through unnecessary steps.

The result: less setup, less guesswork and clearer instructions.

An extra layer of protection for sensitive prototypes

Our Secure Browser already hides URLs and records player interactions. Now you can add watermarking on top.

When watermarking is enabled, a unique, traceable ID is overlaid on the player’s screen for the duration of the session. It doesn’t interfere with gameplay, but it does make one thing very clear: every session is identifiable.

If screenshots or recordings ever leak, they can be traced back to the source.

What this means for you

Together, these updates make it easier — and safer — to test earlier in development:

  • Set up prototype tests faster, with only the options that matter

  • Validate ideas before production costs lock in

  • Test sensitive concepts with more confidence

  • Get easier internal approval thanks to layered security

Prototype testing has always been possible on PlaytestCloud. Now it’s faster to start and easier to trust. Check our security page to learn more about how PlaytestCloud ensures secure remote playtesting.
