Early testing, without friction or fear
Starting today, you can hear the game audio your players hear during the session.
PlaytestCloud playtest will record internal device audio during unmoderated playtests on iOS, Android, and Windows. The player’s microphone and the game audio are recorded as separate tracks, so you can adjust the volume of each when reviewing the session.
This makes it much easier to understand what players are reacting to in real time.
If a player says “that sound is annoying” or suddenly laughs during a moment in the game, you can now hear exactly what triggered that reaction. For multiplayer games with voice chat, you can also hear the conversation happening between players.
When reviewing a session you can:
- Focus on player commentary by lowering the game audio
- Listen to the game audio on its own to evaluate sound design
- Hear the full context of multiplayer interactions
The feature is available for unmoderated playtests on iOS, Android, and Windows.
A small bonus improvement
While working on this feature, we also added a small quality-of-life improvement requested by one of our beta testers.
The volume sliders on the video page now go up to 200%.
This helps with sessions where players speak very quietly. Instead of turning up your laptop volume (and risking a sudden jump scare from another tab), you can boost the volume directly in the video player.
